World Health Assembly (WHA)

Geneva, Switzerland | 20 - 24 May 2019

Overview

Curtin University is supporting a Global Voices Scholarship for a student to attend the 2019 World Health Assembly. The Scholarship Program includes attendance at both a domestic and international delegation, as well as private meetings with subject matter and policy experts, esteemed academics, Commonwealth Government Departmental Secretaries, Members of the Australian Parliament, and leaders of civil-society and private organisations.

Scholarship Program Components

  • Global Voices Research Fellowship

  • Canberra Pre-Departure Briefings Program

  • Attendance at the 2019 World Health Assembly.

The Research Fellowship allows the successful applicant to develop research, analysis and policy-writing skills through developing a policy paper related to the delegation agenda. Your policy paper will include specific recommendations for domestic policy application.

The Scholarship is ideal for students with an interest in health-related policy, health promotion, global health, human rights and international development. The Program has a strong international element so we encourage young Australians with a global perspective to apply.

The Scholarship is fully funded and includes all domestic and international flights, accommodation, breakfasts, visas, insurance, and registration fees.
