What are the eligibility requirements?
All Global Voices Scholars must be Australian citizens or permanent residents aged 18 - 30. We have two scholarship categories:
Universities, faculties and schools support scholarships which are only available to their own students. Some universities have further eligibility requirements including a minimum GPA or level of course completion. Further requirements are outlined in the online application form.
Global Voices National Scholarships are open to all Australia citizens or permanent resident aged 18 - 30. You do not need to be a current tertiary student. We endeavour to make at least one National Scholarship available a year, more information is available on our 'Apply' page.
How can I apply to be a Global Voices delegate?
Global Voices runs two recruitment rounds a year, in February and June. You apply directly through our website.
Will I have any out-of-pocket expenses?
Global Voices Scholarships fund all flights, accommodation, insurance, visas, immunisations, ground transportation and daily breakfasts. Delegates will need to cover other meals and incidental costs.
How does Global Voices choose the summits and meetings it attends?
We consider a range of issue when determining our program. This includes the reputation, agenda, disciplinary themes and the security of the event.
What should I do if my university or institution isn't a partner?
If your Australian university isn't a partner we recommend you contact the global mobility section of your university and ask them to consider supporting Global Voices Scholarships. You can also apply for a National Scholarship which is open to Australian citizens and permanent residents.
How many places are there in each delegation?
There are generally four to six places available on each delegation. The number of places and eligibility requirements are outlined on our 'Apply' page.
What support is provided to delegates?
Delegates receive support and guidance from our experienced Executive Team and dedicated Program Manager. We are committed to creating a space where all delegates can enjoy, learn and engage with the program.
What does Global Voices do to ensure my safety while traveling?
Global Voices monitor travel warnings and security updates issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Our Board of Directors also considers the safety and security of the host city when choosing our delegations. We also ensure all delegates are covered by insurance during all stages of the program.
